Trenton Track Team Off and Running

Teams dodge weather to kick off season.

He also knew his girls could get the best of the Jaguars if they ran to their potential.

They did, ousting the Allen Park team, 77-60, paced by an outstanding performance from Shelby Armentrout, Rachel Ward, and Barbara Czarnecki.

Each of these girls earned top honors in their events last Thursday, while Morgan Labert, Maddie Murray, Kali Sclater, Kara Argue, Ali Cradit, Catherine Miller, Kena Hunter and Nikki Watson all earned points for the Lady Trojans.

The win pushes the team’s mark to 2-1 in the Downriver League.

This week, with fingers crossed, several Trenton High teams get to work on the field.

Here’s a look a few games you might not want to miss.

Tuesday at 4 p.m. the girls tennis squad plays host to Allen Park High School, while both the boys and girls track teams welcome Anderson High in a meet that promises to be very competitive.

Wednesday afternoon the girls varsity softball teams takes the field against Melvindale at home. The first pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
