Trojans Fall to Jaguars

It was a frustrating night for the Trojans offensively as they lost at home to Allen Park, 7-0.

If the Trojans don't make the playoffs in 2011, Friday night's game against Allen Park will be one that haunts them this off-season.

The Trojans played a tough game defensively holding their undefeated Downriver League rivals to seven points at . Unfortunately, that's all the Jaguars needed.

Trenton was able to move the ball pretty effectively all night long in a positional game, but couldn't solve the Allen Park defense in the red zone.

The drive began with an interception by Trenton's Evan Arturi at midfield. The Trojans got down to first and one at the one-yard line after a 40-yard bomb pass from Chad Hamilton to Jason Barbosa, who had a huge game for the Trojans on both sides of the ball.

Trenton failed to crack the endzone in three plays and missed the field goal. While a minute remained in the third and a whole quarter was left to play, Trenton never seemed to be able to bounce back from that empty possession.

The Trojans were the agents of their own demise as time wound down with three offsides calls enabling Allen Park to keep the ball and run down the clock. Trenton was able to get the ball back on their own 15-yard line with one second on the game clock, but that play was a prayer that wasn't answered.

The Trojans now fall to 3-2 and will travel next week to Southgate Anderson.
