Truck Blocks Traffic on West Jefferson
A semi truck carrying a heavy load blocked traffic on West Jefferson Avenue.
North and southbound traffic on West Jefferson Avenue between Sibley and King roads was blocked at about noon Tuesday after a large truck carrying a heavy load failed to make a turn.
Traffic has since been cleared and there were no injuries.
The truck was carrying a piece of equipment that weighed about 200,000 pounds, according to Deputy Chief Jim Nardone, which made it difficult to negotiate the turn from West Jefferson Avenue to King Road.

The truck did not drop the load it was carrying. Workers attached cables from tow trucks to the load as a precaution.
Nardone said the load may have caused considerable damage to West Jefferson if it had fallen.
