Wayne County Cancels Lightfest Because of Flooding

Once Hines Drive reopens to traffic, normal hours will resume.

The Wayne County Lightfest has been canceled tonight, Monday, Nov. 24, due to flooding.

As the Midwest’s largest and longest drive-through light show, Lightfest features more than 55 giant animated holiday themed displays, with an estimated total of 100,000 illuminated lights.

Once Hines Dr. reopens, Lightfest’s normal hours of operation are from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and from6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday. Please note, Lightfest is closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Visitors enter Lightfest at Hines Drive and Merriman Road in Westland and exit onto Warren Avenue near Telegraph Road in Dearborn Heights. There is a $5 fee per vehicle. Hines Drive closes to traffic at 6:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and at 5:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday.
