Friday, Oct. 21

Halloween Movies at Redford Theater

Get into Halloween spirit at Redford Theater Friday night to see the movie Young Frankenstein. The same film will be shown Saturday evening, and Beetlejuice will be played on Sunday afternoon. Admission is $5 each and the movies are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at 17360 Lahser Road, Detroit.

Ofrendas Altars at the Detroit Institute of Arts

Check out the temporary exhibit Ofrenda Altars at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Oct. 21-Nov. 6, 2016 to see how Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is celebrated in Mexico. Atteendees will see flowers, mementos, photos, media, art displays, sugar skulls, foods and other articles that coincide with the holiday. There's also a sugar skull workshop from 6-9 p.m. every Friday in Oct. The exhibit is at Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward Ave.

Saturday, Oct. 22

Downtown Rochester Farmers' Market

The market features only Michigan-grown (or made) products including vegetables, fruits, flowers, container gardens, fresh cut flowers, herbs, homemade baked goods, gnocchi, jams and jellies, honey, maple syrup, tea blends, locally roasted coffee and various certified organic products including eggs, beef and chicken. The market will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E. Third and Water Street, Rochester.

Fall Harvest Craft & Vendor Show

Come out and get a start on the Holiday Season, while supporting your local business owners. This show will feature handmade jewelry, handmade crafts, samples of products and food, interactive activities and much more. The show begins at 11 a.m. at Clawson City Hall Community Center, 425 N Main Street.

Trunk or Treat and Harvest Party

Family friendly fun that your kids are sure to enjoy with games, prizes, donuts, cider, music, and, of course, candy. Kids will then trick-or-treat going from trunk to trunk of cars in the church parking. Open for free to the community and begins at 4 p.m. at Divine Grace Lutheran Church & School, 3000 S Lapeer Rd Lake Orion.

Sunday, Oct. 23

Friends of Rochester Hills Library Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library will give you a chance to at least try looking through 35,000 books during the Friends Fall Used Book and Media Sale set for Oct. 19-Oct. 23. The sale closes on Sunday, October 23 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. It is the popular Bag Day, where buyers can fit anything that fits into a grocery bag for $5. Check out the Rochester Hills Public Library, 500 Olde Towne Rochester.

Clawson Trick or Treat Trail

Trick or Treat Trail at Clawson City Park, Sunday October 23, 6-7.30 pm. Children should dress in costume to trick or treat around the wood chip trail. Treats provided by local groups and businesses and cider and donuts are free at the pavilion. This event is free and will be held at Clawson City Park, 1080 N. Custer, Clawson.
