In addition, Patterson declared Sept. 11-17 Patriot Week in Oakland County.

Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren founded Patriot Week to renew “America’s spirit by celebrating the First Principles, Founding Fathers and other Patriots, vital documents and speeches, and flags that make America the greatest nation in world history.”

Patriot week is anchored by the key dates of Sept. 11 and Sept. 17, or Constitution Day, the anniversary of the signing of the Constitution by the founders.

Patriot Week activities include the 6th Annual Patriot Festival, a free, family friendly event open to the public from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Bower’s Farm, 1219 E. Square Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills. For more information, go to PatriotWeek.org.
