Amid Complaints, Closing Time for Upscale Watch Maker

Customer complaints gave Bozeman Watch Co. – which appears to have been shuttered – a failing grade from the Better Business Bureau.

An upscale Birmingham watch retailer has closed after customers complained they didn’t receive the timepieces they ordered

Two other Bozeman Watch Co. stores, both of them in its home state of Montana, also closed amid complaints, the Detroit Free Press reports. The store in downtown Birmingham was the first outside of its home state. It opened in 2013

The luxury watch company has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Washington, North Idaho and Montana, primarily because of its response to complaints. BBB spokeswoman Chelsea Maguire said in an email to the Free Press “there appears to be a theme of consumers paying for a product and not receiving it as promised.”

Of the eight complaints, the company only responded to one, according to the BBB.

The BBB of Eastern Michigan gave the Birmingham shop a C- rating. Spokeswoman Danae Hane told the Free Press the company responded to only one complaint.

The Free Press said telephones in the Birmingham and Montana stores were either not working or had been disconnected. An email to the company also bounced, the Free Press said.
