3. 2 people charged in series of package thefts at Troy apartment complex (cbsnews.com) β Package thefts at Somerset Park Apartments in Troy led police to charge two 23-year-olds from Detroit and Royal Oak with multiple counts of mail theft. Investigators used license-plate cameras and a social media tip to identify a suspect vehicle, and Troy police are urging residents to report thefts directly rather than posting online first.

Detroit man accused of shooting at 2 women trying to drive away from fight (newsbreak.com) β A Detroit man is facing serious assault and firearm charges after Royal Oak police say he shot at two women as they drove away from a fight, with a 19-year-old Troy woman also detained and later released. Royal Oak and Troy police worked together to arrest both suspects, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Royal Oak's Criminal Investigations Division.
