Zion Church Hosts Diaper Drive for Detroit Area Diaper Bank

During the month of November, Zion Christian Church will host a diaper drive to benefit the Detroit Area Diaper Bank, and the community is invited to donate any size of diapers, from infant to adult, at the church’s location at 3668 Livernois Road in Troy.

Diapers can be dropped off on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. during services, or Monday-Friday during weekly office hours, which are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Detroit Area Diaper Bank works to build a network to help meet the need for diapers in Metro Detroit’s most vulnerable populations- babies from low-income households, the elderly and people with disabilities. Even opened packages of diapers are welcome.

“Diaper donations slow in the fall season, right when the weather is getting cold and babies need a dry diaper more than ever to avoid chapped and infected skin,” said Marybeth Levine, founder and director of the Detroit Area Diaper Bank. “Many out-of-work families cannot afford a healthy change of diapers for their little ones, and that is the help that the Diaper Bank provides.”

Zion’s diaper drive is part of the Detroit Area Diaper Bank’s overall goal to collect 200,000 diapers by Thanksgiving. For more information on the Detroit Area Diaper Bank, visit www.detroitareadiaperbank.org, or contact Director Marybeth Levine at malevine@detroitareadiaperbank.org
