Athens JV & Varsity Powerlifters Compete in Chicago

Yesterday, Athens women's powerlifters Claire Dunneback, Reya Johnson, Brooke Lee and Brady Porter competed at USAPL High School Nationals Competition in Chicago, IL. They are coached by Athens High School teacher, Nick Lusk. Claire and Reya both placed 1st in the national for their age (National Champions), Brooke and Brody each took 4th in the nation for their age. The 3 girls, as a team, beat out the competition and came home with the Team National Championship! Athens JV girls Powerlifting team is the 2022 National Champion! Today, the girls varsity team will compete starting at 5pm and concluding tomorrow, Saturday. 4 Varsity lifters, Emma Leonard, Cecelia Chung, Eva Hobley and Christina Johnson will compete in high school varsity nationals as individuals in the age groups and as a team for Athens.
