AT&T Invests More Than $1.7 Billion Over Three Year Period to Enhance Local Networks In Michigan
Troy among several communities that received network improvements in 2014.

AT&T has invested more than $1.7 billion in its wireless and wired networks in Michigan between 2012 through 2014, driving a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers.
Troy was among the communities were AT&T either added or expanded 4G LTE. Others included Alpena, Battle Creek, Bad Axe and Flint.
Other notable Michigan network enhancements in 2014 included new site builds in 34 communities including, Grosse Pointe Woods, Lansing, St. Clair, Ypsilanti and Whitmore Lake.

As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP), an investment plan focused on network enhancement and expansion, AT&T in 2014 made 513 wireless network upgrades in Michigan, including 34 new cell sites and the addition of 49 capacity additions. There were also 38 new mobile Internet network connections and 392 new wireless high-speed Internet network connections.
