Award-winning Troy Theatre Ensemble presents Agatha Christie's classic whodunnit: "And Then There Were None" November 5, 6 & 7 at 7 pm
The Troy Theatre Ensemble, Troy High School’s award-winning, internationally recognized theatre troupe, announces its annual fall production. Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None (“Ten Little Indians”). 2015 marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of the best selling author of all time, Agatha Christie, and we are proud to celebrate her legacy with our production, our first foray into Christie territory since 2003’s The Mousetrap. And Then There Were None is the classic whodunit which begins with a cluster of statuettes – ten little soldier boys – sitting on the mantel of a country house on an isolated island off the coast of a rural, sparsely populated area. A nursery rhyme hanging above the mantel tells how each little soldier boy met his death, until there were none.
Eight assorted guests and two house servants are invited to this beach house for a weekend by a mysterious host. The guests have never met one another before, nor have they met their host. While the guests assemble, a voice comes out of the air, accusing everyone present, including the two servants, of murder. While they exchange info about themselves and their host (who has sent word he will not be down until the next day), one of the ten little soldier topples off the mantel and breaks; immediately thereafter, one of the guests chokes to death from cyanide poisoning - one down and nine to go. The excitement begins and never lets up until the final curtain.
