Cantor Colburn Announces Hiring Experienced Patent Associates in Troy Office

Cantor Colburn LLP, one of the country’s leading intellectual property specialty law firms, announced today the hiring of two experienced patent associates, Michael S. Park and Brian S. Pickell in the firm’s Detroit office.  Michael lives in Troy and Brian lives in Grand Blanc.

About the Attorneys

Michael Park’s experience includes preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications in the areas of networking, mobile computing, digital media processing, electronic design automation, and medical devices. Prior to entering legal practice, Michael was an engineer at IBM Software Group, developing collaborative and productivity software.  His JD is from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering is from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He is admitted in California and to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  He is fluent in Korean.

Brian Pickell’s practice covers all facets of intellectual-property law and focuses on preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications for mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies.  He is also experienced with conducting clearance investigations, preparing varied written opinions, and handling all forms of trademark- and copyright-related matters.  Brian has extensive experience in automotive-related technologies.  His JD is from Michigan State University, Detroit College of Law; he has done coursework in physics at Wayne State University; and his B.A. in Economics is from the University of Michigan.  He is admitted in Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
