Troy Churches Gather in Thanksgiving

Giving thanks in community

Troy, MI, November 16, 2015: On Tuesday, November 24, 2015 Troy community churches will gather at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Thanksgiving. Reverend Weatherly Verhelst, of First United Methodist Church in Troy will deliver the evening’s message, and Liza Maidens, Interim Director of Music at Northminster Presbyterian, will direct the combined choirs as well as the Eastern Michigan University Express Ensemble. This evening is meant to celebrate community, giving, and love in the season of Thanksgiving.

A free will offering will benefit Troy People Concerned and The Welcome Inn. Troy People Concerned is a service organization supporting Troy residents in time of need with assistance, information and referrals. The Welcome Inn is a day center for the homeless and provides a place to shower, make phone calls, have a meal, explore job opportunities, store their belongings, accept mail and get connected to community social services. Everyone is welcome to join us in giving thanks to God and community on this special day.
