Clinton Township Man Hit, Killed While Crossing Road: Police
The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with officers, who believe alcohol played a factor in the crash, police said.
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man was killed Thursday night when police said he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a road in Clinton Township.
Police said the 30-year-old man from Clinton Township was crossing eastbound Metropolitan Parkway from Garfield Road at 11:45 p.m. when a gray 2022 Nissan Frontier hit him.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.

The Nissan driver, who is also from Clinton Township, stayed on the scene and was cooperating with officers, police said. The driver was not injured in the crash.
Police believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Police said that section of Metropolitan Parkway has a speed limit of 55 miles per hour. The road is straight and has three lanes heading east, a grass median, and four lanes heading west (including one turn lane).
