Cornerstone Community Financial Works with Children's Hospital

Community Support will Help Support "Cruisin' for a Cure" - 10 Patient "Mini-Jeeps" to Children's Hospital of Michigan

Cruisin’ for a Cure, a community fundraiser, presented by Cornerstone Community Financial (CCF), to support Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, as part of September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

CHM is part of a growing number of hospitals allowing young patients to “drive” themselves into surgery and other procedures in ride-on miniature cars (for safety reasons, the vehicles are actually remote-controlled by a parent or nursing staff nearby). “Driving” into a medical test, procedure or surgery in a toy vehicle helps to add some levity, and reduce patient anxiety, in a stressful situation.

All funds raised will be used to purchase the 10 mini-Jeeps. Any additional funds will be used to cover treatment expenses for the families of youth oncology patients at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
