Troy Will Plow County Roads in the Area This Winter
Troy will continue to maintain nine major roads.

(Originally posted Oct. 6, 2016) TROY, MI — The Farmer's Almanac is predicting a warmer, but wetter, winter ahead. AccuWeather says it will be colder and snowier. Either way, Oakland County residents who live in the Troy area, you are set for snowplowing. We know, we know, it's only October. But it's good to be prepared.
The Troy City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the Road Commission for Oakland County on Sept. 19. The council has approved contracts with the Road Commission to plow county roads since 2001, the Troy Times reported.
“Residents like the consistency throughout the city,” Troy Public Works Director Kurt Bovensiep told The Troy Times. He noted that Troy has one snow removal truck for each major road, while the county has one snow removal truck per four or five roads. City crews and contractors clear 80 miles of county roads.
