Credit Union Offers Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for Cornerstone Community Financial’s Maurice Oliver scholarship. Cornerstone will award five $1,000 scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year. Applicants must be a member of the credit union as of April 15, 2015 to be considered.

The Maurice Oliver scholarship offers financial support to students with demonstrated financial need who achieve academic excellence and contribute to the community in which they live. Eligibility requirements and an application can be downloaded HERE.

Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2015.

The scholarship program was named in honor of Maurice Oliver, one of the founding members of Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union and former chairman of the board of directors. Oliver was active in the community and was well-known for his motto, “We pass but once this way through life, so let us not forget to show kindness to all those we meet, for we will not pass this way again.” Recipients of the Maurice Oliver Scholarship should embrace this spirit of community service and leadership.
