Detroit Country Day School seniors make official college athletic commitments

Eleven student athletes, including football standout Jeremiah Tyler, announce intentions as part of National Signing Day

Eleven Detroit Country Day School (DCDS) seniors, including football standout Jeremiah Tyler, have signed college commitments to play a variety of sports at colleges and universities throughout the country. DCDS Executive Director of Athletics Dan MacLean made the announcement.

Taylor will head to Princeton University, where he will join the Princeton Tigers Football program at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Cooper Belanger will play lacrosse for Colgate University, Kone Bowman will play football for Saginaw Valley State University, Walker Cooney will join the lacrosse team at Bates College, Matthew Dolan will play lacrosse at Le Moyne College, Christopher Jackson will join the track and field team at Duke University, William Krushena will play baseball for Denison University, Brandon Matthews will play lacrosse at Albion College, Haley Mullins will play tennis for Hampton University, Owen Sappington will play lacrosse for Denison University, and Varsha Yerasi will swim for New York University.

“At Detroit Country Day School, we are very proud of the incredible athletic accomplishments of our senior students,” said MacLean. “Our coaches, teachers, mentors and parents are all part of a supportive community that encourages our student athletes to reach their highest potential. We believe that encouraging good sportsmanship, physical fitness and healthy competition are an important part of their future.”
