Disgruntled Church Member Stabs Security Volunteer: Police
Brian Boulus, 21, was charged with assault with intent to commit murder and is detained on $100,000 bond.

TROY, MI – A Troy church security volunteer was stabbed in the stomach by a disgruntled church member just after noon Sunday, police said.
The suspect, Brian Boulus, 21, of Center Line, had a small knife in his hand when he approached the door of the Christ the King Syriac Church, 2300 John R., at 12:08 p.m., the Troy Police Department said in a statement.

When the security volunteer told him to put it in his car before entering the church, Boulus allegedly pulled the knife, stabbed the volunteer in the abdomen and then fled the scene.

Several witnesses observed the stabbing, police said, and Boulus was arrested at his home in Center Line and was taken into custody without incident.
He was arraigned in 52nd District Court Monday on a charge of assault with intent to commit murder. Magistrate Clement Waldmann set bond at $100,000 cash/surety.
