Driver Had Blood Alcohol Content of .107 Percent: Police

The driver was cited for first offense drunken driving and driving while suspended.

TROY, MI – A 67-year-old Shelby Township man registered a blood alcohol level of .107 percent on a field sobriety test given in a recent drunken driving stop, Troy police said.

Police discovered the man’s license has been suspended during a stop for a traffic violation on Northbound Livernois, north of W. Long Lake Road, at 12:43 p.m. on April 12, police said.

The officer observed an open container of alcohol on the center console of the Chevrolet HHR. The motorist said it was from the night before, police said, but the container was cold to the touch.
