Troy High Colt Bands Pre-Festival Concert

The Troy High Bands invite you to experience their Annual Festival Concert on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, starting at 7pm.  Director Brian P. Nutting, Director of Bands, will lead the Symphonic and Concert Bands in a spectacular program featuring music from such well-known composers as Saint-Saens, Sheldon and Hazo.

The Festival Concert gives the bands the opportunity to share with the public the music they will be playing in state and national competitions.  The annual Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association Festival will host the THS bands at Dakota High School in Macomb on March 16.  The following month, the bands travel to San Antonio to participate in the San Antonio Heritage Music Festival and a chance to compete with other bands from across the country.  But, no doubt, one of the highlights of that trip will be marching in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, the nation’s largest illuminated parade.

Admission to the Festival Concert is free.   First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham is located at 1669 Maple Rd., Birmingham, MI 480009 (on the south side between Southfield and Cranbrook Roads).
