On August 11, 2011 from 6:30-9pm, please join local celebrities such as Detroit Lions Lomas Brown, Biggest Loser Winner Helen Philips, WXYZ-TV’s Erin Nicole, Jimmy King of U-M’s Fab Five and others, as they come together at Morton’s Steakhouse in Troy, located at 888 West Big Beaver Rd., to host and bartend at “Cocktails for a Cause,” sponsored by Stonebridge Financial Partners LLC.
All funds raised from this event will benefit Operation Backpack, a program started by Volunteers of America four years ago. The backpack program helps students across Metro Detroit receive the school supplies they need in order to start school in the fall. Each backpack provided to students is filled with supplies such as pencils, notebooks, markers, binders etc.
Celebrities will each have their own specialty drink to create, make and serve to customers. Doors open at 6pm and event will run until 9pm. There will be a silent auction hosted by DC Sports along with complimentary appetizers from Morton’s.

Entry into the event is a $20 donation to VOA.
