Troy High School’s Bands plays host to one of the nation’s premiere music ensembles next month when Western Michigan University’s Symphonic Band comes to town on its annual Spring Tour. The Band performs extensively throughout the United States and in countries as far reaching as Australia and China. The stop in Troy takes place April 9th.
“This is a unique opportunity for our community to see such a talented group of musicians on our stage. It is an honor to be able to perform with them as well,” says Troy High Band Director, Brian Nutting. The Troy High School Symphonic Band will also perform with Western’s Band. The THS Symphonic Band was recently awarded “superior” ratings at this year’s Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association Festival. This is the 13th year in a row for the Symphonic Band to receive such high accolades.
