Fun Things To Do In Troy This Month
The City of Troy lists fun activities to do in September.
September 1-30: Virtual 5K | Any Location | The mParks foundation is hosting a Virtual 5K all through the month of September to raise funds for local recreation and park opportunities. A virtual race can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. Run, jog, or walk on the road, a trail, the treadmill, at the gym or on a track. Run your own race at your own pace. Plus, your medal will be shipped to you. Fee: $30 plus processing. Register at mparksfoundation.org/virtual5k.September 2: Last day Troy Family Aquatic Center is open for the 2019 season | 11 am-7 pm.September 3: Paws to Read with Buddy | Library | 5-6 pm | Ages 4+ | Buddy loves kids and a good story! Take a few minutes to stop by and practice your reading skills with Buddy, a Goldendoodle certified by Alliance of Therapy Dogs and a Good Canine Citizen (AKC). Reading slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of each dog’s arrival.
September 4: Cheddar’s Preschool Story Hour: Making New Friends | Historic Village | 10:30-11:30 am | Ages 2-5 | Join Cheddar the Village Mouse for a classic tale, simple craft, & yummy treat. THS Member: Children $3, Adults $5; Non-Member: Children $4, Adults $6. Child must be accompanied by an adult.

September 4: 4th Annual Softball Game | Boulan Park Diamond #2 | 6 pm | All Ages | Come out and cheer on the City of Troy Firefighters and the On My Own of Michigan Eagles. On My Own assists adults with intellectual developmental disabilities to live independently, maintain employment and enjoy an improved quality of life. The On My Own Eagles compete in the annual Special Olympics and they beat the Firefighters in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Time for another rematch!
September 6: Customer Appreciation Day at the Troy Farmers Market | Library Parking Lot | 2-6 pm | Giveaways, games and fun! Be sure and stop by the Information Booth. Shop locally grown produce and homemade goods. The Lobster Food Truck at the Market!

September 6: Battle of the Badges Softball Game | Flynn Park, South Blvd | 7 pm | All Ages | Come and watch as the Troy Police go to battle against the Troy Firefighters in the 1st Battle of the Badges softball game. $10 adults | $5 kids 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the construction of a Firefighter Memorial Monument at Firefighters Park.
September 7: Doggie Splash | TFAC | 10 am-12:45 pm | All are invited to bring their furry friend in for a 45 minute dog-only swim. Don’t worry - the pool will be drained for the season after the Dog Swim. Dogs must be at least 6 months old with a current license to participate. $12 Res, $15 NR. Rain Date: September 8.
