Getting the Most Out of a Nonprofit Board Topic of Program
About 5 percent of nonprofit boards rank fundraising as a weakness of board members, according to a recent survey.

If you don’t think you’re getting enough out of your charity’s board of directors, you’re not alone, according to the National Center for Nonprofit Boards, which says a lack of ability to raise money is cited as the biggest weakness of many charity board members.
Only 5 percent of organizations surveyed listed fundraising as a board strength, and fundraising was the No. 1 area where boards said improvement is needed.

“Nonprofits are increasingly expected to cut costs in their budgets, such as training, yet still provide adequate services,” Jody House, vice president of the Troy Chamber said in a news release. “One of the goals when the Chamber started the Non-Profit Network was to provide educational opportunities for our nonprofit members, and with the support of for-profit Chamber members, like LJPR Financial Advisors, we are able to accomplish this.”
The two-hour session costs $25 for Troy Chamber members and $35 for non-members.
