Great Lakes Business Intelligence & Big Data Summit 2014: Registration Opens, Keynotes Announced

WIT is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Great Lakes Business Intelligence & Big Data Summit, on Thursday, March 13, 2014.  The event, hosted by WIT, will be held at the Troy Marriott Hotel in Troy, Michigan.  Registration instructions and general information can be found on the Summit website at:  www.greatlakesbisummit.com.

Following up on the success of last year’s inaugural event, more than 250 data and analytics professionals are expected to attend this year’s Summit, to network and learn about a variety of business intelligence (BI) and Big Data topics, including:

·         Legal, process, and governance considerations for Big Data

·         Technology vendor presentations

The one-day agenda for the Summit will also include two thought-provoking keynote speakers:  Rebecca D. Costa, Sociobiologist, and author of “The Watchman’s Rattle” and Gary Robinson, Program Director for IBM's Big Data organization.  Ms. Costa will challenge conventional wisdom with a presentation titled, “The Cautionary Side of Big Data.”  And Mr. Robinson will highlight solutions to Big Data and analytics problems with a presentation titled, “Tools for Battling Complexity in the Modern World.”

Case studies and related topics will be presented by practitioners at a cross-section of top companies within the manufacturing, healthcare, and services industries.  Vendor sponsors for the Summit include Microsoft, Informatica, QlikTech, and Hortonworks.
