Helping Sick Kids Tops Rainbow Connection's Wish List

The Rainbow Connection's Wish Child Fashion Show and Gifts Galore Silent Auction later this month helps four-star charity meet goals.

An event later this month in Troy will raise money to help dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses and provide support services to their families.

The Rainbow Connection celebrates the magic of the holidays with the annual Celebration of Dreams on Sunday, Nov. 22, at the San Marino Club in Troy.

Featuring a Wish Child Fashion Show, Gifts Galore Silent Auction, dinner and cocktails, Celebration of Dreams “kicks off the holiday season for us and many of our Wish Families,” Rainbow Connection Executive Director Mary Grace McCarter said in a news release.

“It is our opportunity to celebrate the wonder of the children we are here to help and all we have accomplished throughout the year with old friends and new friends,” McCarter said.

The Rochester-based Rainbow Connection was awarded the highest rating, four stars, by Charity Navigator.

From a magical trip to Disney World to biking down volcanoes in Hawaii to meeting the president of the United States, The Rainbow Connection has made dreams come true for more than 3,000 children and anticipates making dreams come true for more than 150 children in 2015.
