High School Students Share Thanksgiving with Preschool Students

Students from Troy's College & Career High School shared a Thanksgiving feast with their little counterparts at the TSD preschool

Today was a good day to give thanks at the Niles Center. 85 students from Troy’s College & Career High School shared a Thanksgiving feast with 48 of their little counterparts at the Troy School District Preschool—as they coincidentally also share a building. As the big kids mingled, chatted, and laughed with the preschoolers wearing turkey hats, you could see the bond that was forming between these two groups. “I love working with the kids,” said TC&C HS junior Hanifa Abraham. “They have such joy, and positive energy. They make me smile.” Serving up the feast of turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, and more were the Administrators of the Troy School District, including Superintendent Rich Machesky, Deputy Superintendent Teaching and Learning Mark Dziatczak, Director of Athletics & Enrichment Mike Jolly, and Secretary of the Troy School Board Paula Fleming. As Deb MacDonald Linford, principal of Troy College & Career High School observed: “It has always been important for us to have a feeling of family within our school building, and this is just one of the ways we do it.”
