Hockey Mom Fights Referee, Players Intervene: Police
A 47-year-old mom, her 18-year-old son and a 57-year-old referee all claim to be victims and want assault charges filed.

TROY, MI – A Pennsylvania hockey mom got into a fight with a referee at the Troy Sports Center Saturday morning, and several players intervened to break up the melee.
The woman, 47 from Coraopolis, PA, checked on her 18-year-old son during an intermission, entering a restricted area near the referees’ locker room, WXYZ-TV reports.

One of the referees, a 57-year-old man from Beverly Hills, told the woman she needed to leave the restricted area, an argument ensued and the mother walked out on the ice.
Exactly what happened is unclear due to conflicting accounts, but the mother, her son and the referee all became involved in a fight that several hockey players had to break up, police said.

All three claimed to be victims and asked that assault and battery charges be filed, the TV station said.
