Innovative Learning Group Expands Sales Staff: Tom Petro Joins Company as Business Development Executive

Tom Petro has joined Innovative Learning Group, a performance-first learning company in Troy, as a business development executive.

“I had the privilege of working with Tom many years ago, and I’m especially thrilled to have him be part of our team,” says CEO Lisa Toenniges. “With his extensive knowledge of the learning industry and great client rapport, I’m confident that Tom will play a critical role in increasing our client base and enabling ILG to continue its steady growth.”

Petro has 30 years of experience in marketing and business development for complex B2B services, including learning and performance support solutions. Petro joined ILG after a more than 10-year career at J.D. Power in Troy. Most recently, Petro was the senior director of marketing where he was responsible for B2B product marketing and events. Previously, he was a founding member and senior director of business development for the company’s financial services and insurance division. In this role, Petro helped to grow the division’s revenue from $5 million to $18 million in three years.

Petro has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Wayne State University.
