It’s Time for Troy Athens Charity Week 2022 –Benefitting Alex’s Saints Foundation
Troy Athens High School is getting ready for one of Michigan’s largest high-school student led charity campaigns! The student body will be raising money and awareness during February 14-18, 2022, in order to support Alex’s Saints Foundation. This is a local organization that combats the opioid epidemic. Named in memory of 2013 Athens graduate Alex St. Pierre, this group raises awareness of this important issue while providing narcotic rehabilitation financial assistance. Another focus is helping families who have a loved one suffering from drug addiction. By choosing Alex’s Saints Foundation, Athens Student Council hopes to raise awareness about this serious issue.
Various activities for students are planned to raise money and awareness during Charity Week. For example, students will kick off the week with a “Comfy” spirit day and pancake breakfast prepared by parents. Another event during the week, Jail ‘n’ Bail, allows students to place warrants on themselves or their friends; as a result, they are “arrested” during class and placed inside a “jail” which has games for students to enjoy.

Other events include a carnival night, a “belly flop” contest, a volleyball tournament, hypnosis show, film festival, and a parent cook-off followed by the Mr. Athens Pageant. The general public may not be able to participate in all the activities listed above; however, they can still be part of reaching our goal. Here is the online community donation link:
