Mall Robbery Suspect Tied to Home Invasion, Perhaps More Crimes: Police

Troy Special Investigations unit — made up of Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak and Troy officers — is investigating.

TROY, MI — A suspect in a Sept. 20 robbery at Troy mall was arrested six days later after allegedly breaking into a home in Warren, police said, noting the arrest of Ted Oliver-Price, 26, could clear more crimes in Metro Detroit.

Ted Oliver-Price, 26, is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $200,000 after his arraignment on first-degree home invasion charges in connection with the Warren incident, and was expected to be arraigned on charges related to the robbery at the Oakland Mall, the Troy Police Department said in a news release.

Troy police charged Oliver-Price with armed robbery, possession of firearm in the commission of a felony, and larceny from a person.

While investigating the robbery at Oakland Mall, located at 412 W. 14 Mile Road, Troy detectives developed information that allegedly ties Oliver-Price to crimes throughout Metro Detroit, according to the release.

Working with the Warren Police Department, investigators of the Troy Special Investigations Unit arrested Oliver-Price without incident and tied him to incidents in both cities, police said.

The Troy Investigations Unit, a multi-jurisdictional unit that investigates criminal activity throughout the region, is comprised of officers from the police departments in Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak and Troy.
