Man 'Chest-Bumped' in Confrontation in Troy That Included Death Threat: Police

The victim recognized the suspect as his ex-wife's former boyfriend, Troy police said.

TROY, MI — A 43-year-old Troy man recently threatened his former girlfriend's ex-husband as he filled his vehicle with gas, said he was going to “snap his neck and kill him” and “chest-bumped” him before fleeing, Troy police said.

The incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. on July 28 at Speedway Gasoline Station, 2980 E. Big Beaver Road.

The victim told police that as he was fueling his vehicle, a 2006 Ford Super Duty Pick-up suddenly parked perpendicular to his vehicle, got out and yelled obscenities as he approached him, according to a news release.

The victim, who recognized the suspect as his ex-wife’s former boyfriend, was on his phone during the confrontation and the suspect could hear the voice on the other end of the phone state that the police were being called.

He then retreated to his vehicle and took off in an unknown direction, police said.
