Man Struck, Killed By Car In Sterling Heights: Police
The driver stopped and cooperated with police after he struck the man trying to cross Mound Road just north of 17 Mile Road.
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — A Detroit man was killed Thursday morning after he was struck by a car in Sterling Heights, police said.
Officers said the 29-year-old man was trying to cross Mound Road, north of 17 Mile Road, when he was hit by the car in the southbound lanes at 4:15 a.m. Officials pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The 21-year-old male driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police during their initial investigation, officials said. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.

Southbound Mound Road between 18 Mile and 17 Mile roads was closed Thursday morning as police continued their investigation.
