Massacres, Pirates and Poison, Oh My! This is the Troy Library?

Michigan's most famous murders covered in new book; author to speak at library Oct. 6.

(Originally published Oct. 4, 2016) TROY, MI — Award-winning journalist and former Michiganite Tom Carr is fascinated by crime. Specifically, murder. Specifically, Michigan. He's written about notorious murders in the state between 1763 and 2016 in his new book, "Blood on the Mitten," and will read from the book Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Troy Public Library.

Carr, who worked at the Traverse City Record-Eagle for 20 years, is hoping this book will be the first in a series of Michigan true-crime stories.

“True crime programs are always popular,” Cassandrah Suh, adult services librarian for the Troy Public Library, told C and G Newspapers. “We thought it would be really fun for October and people getting ready for Halloween.”
