* Popular hydration drink gaining national attention and proudly supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
TROY, MI – Hydration is one of the most important things for the body, especially for kids in sports. Unfortunately, today’s so-called hydration drinks are laden with high fructose corn syrup, caffeine, and other things that are actually unhealthy for the body, and do little to hydrate. In addition, kids who have Juvenile Diabetes can’t consume these drinks.

Peter Andoni, co-owner of Shield’s Restaurants and pizzerias, with his wife, have a son named Alex who has Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes. Alex wanted to be just like the other kids and enjoy what they were drinking, but couldn’t. Peter promised his son and set out on a journey to research and develop a hydration drink that was not only healthy, but one that could be enjoyed by kids and adults.
The result was Nutri-Twist Wow Water, which comes in three delicious flavors including Strawberry Kiwi, Berry Fusion, and Tropical Citrus. Each bottle contains Vitamins B, C & D, but no high fructose corn syrup, is gluten free, has no artificial flavors or colors, nor sucralose or aspartame, no caffeine, and only 40-45 calories.

Nutri-Twist Wow Water has become so popular that it is sold in multiple locations, most recently the 67-unit CUB Foods chain in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The beverage is also available at www.amazon.com and is distributed by Sysco, Atlas Wholesale Food Company, IDI, and RG Distribution, LLC.
“Our son, Alex, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was only seven years old,” says Andoni. “Impacted by the lack of healthy choices available, I made the commitment to my son and to all children to create and offer healthier beverages. Nutri-Twist Wow Water is making good on that commitment. This will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by providing a healthier option, as well as a financial commitment to the group through partial proceeds.”
“Another reason for doing this was to raise awareness about JDRF and Juvenile Diabetes, and that there are 26 million diabetics in America today. It’s a known fact that 1 in 3 children in America today are part of the overweight or obese community. This is an effort to promote healthy hydration for all sports teams with an emphasis placed on making the right choices today, which leads to healthier tomorrows.”
Nutri-Twist Wow Water is available at markets and restaurants throughout Southeast Michigan, including all Hiller’s, Nino Salvaggio, Westborn Market locations, as well as Holiday Markets in Royal Oak, Shield’s, Crispelli’s, Market Basket, Leos Coney Island locations, the Birmingham Athletic Club, and some school districts, to name a few. It is also available in other out-of-state locations.
