Troy Police Find Drugs on Suspected Shoplifter
Troy police were called out on 203 calls for service Nov. 2-3.

From Nov. 2-3, Troy police officers handled 203 calls for service, resulting in three traffic arrests, to warrant arrests, one retail fraud arrest, one domestic assault arrest and one arrest for embezzlement over $100.
Larceny From Yards
330 E. Maple Road, 10/31/2015 – 11/2/2015, 12:00 Noon – 7:00 AM: Victim reports unknown suspect(s) stole his black 2005 Hydra Lift Two Axel Dump Trailer while it was stored at the complex parking lot. The trailer was loaded with cardboard.
Retail Frauds
J. C. Penney, 700 W. Fourteen Mile Road, 11/3/2015, 1:20 PM: A 43 year old male from Detroit, came to the business and attempted to steal $563 worth of merchandise for sale in the store before being stopped by Loss Prevention. He was arrested and while being searched, the responding officers found him to be in possession of 4 Carisoprodol pills and 12 Alprazolam pills. He was charged with Retail Fraud – 1

Controlled Substance
Macy’s Department Store, 500 W. Fourteen Mile Road, 11/3/2015, 6:08 PM: An unknown male, came to the business and attempted to steal $220 worth of merchandise for sale in the store before being stopped by Loss Prevention. He refused to come back into the store and gave the stolen merchandise back which was a jacket he had been wearing. Found inside the jacket pocket was some of the suspect’s cash. He was described as a male approximately 20 years old.
Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile
Power Home Remodeling, 1400 Rankin Street, 10/30/2015 – 10/31/2015, 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM: Victim is allowed to park his White 2003 Ford F250 Pick-up with attached Stealth Titan Trailer in the rear of the business parking lot. When he returned to the business, the truck and trailer were missing. The vehicle was located in Detroit with the steering column, dashboard, and ignition damaged. Victim is unable to provide any suspects.

Oakland Mall Parking Lot, 500 W. Fourteen Mile Road, 11/3/2015, 3:45 PM – 4:30 PM: Victim reports unknown suspect(s) stole her maroon 2003 Dodge Stratus while it was parked in the parking lot.
Larceny From Automobile
5000 block of Breeze Hill Place, 11/1/2015 – 11/2/2015, 8:00 PM – 7:30 AM: Complainant reports unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked grey 2015 Dodge Charger rental vehicle in the parking lot to steal his I-Phone power cord and the GPS Unit that came with the vehicle.
1000 block of Pond Ridge, 11/3/2015, 9:00 – 2:35 PM: Victim reports sometime during the day, unknown suspect(s) stole his State of Michigan License Plate from his black 2010 Chrysler Town and Country Van.
Larceny in a Building
Nordstrom’s Rack, 822 E. Big Beaver Road, 11/3/2015, 4:00 PM: Victim reports accidentally leaving her Apple I-Phone 6 in the shoe department. When she returned, it was gone. She was able to track the phone and discovered it to be southbound on Interstate 75 at Rochester. She is unable to provide any suspect(s).
Credit, Check, Identity Theft, Other Fraud
Nordstrom’s Department Store, 2850 W. Big Beaver Road, 8/12/2015 – 8/31/2015: Business Regional Investigator was conducting an investigation of an employee, a 20 year old female out of Sterling Heights. The employee was using her discount to purchase store items and then return them, causing a loss to the business. On six occasions, the employee conducted these transactions for a loss of $1,339.90 to the company. When called into the Loss Prevention Office, she admitted to her theft. The responding officer arrested her,charging her with Embezzlement Over $100.
Shell Gasoline Station, 3990 Rochester Road, 10/30/2015: Victim had her wallet stolen in Shelby Township and learned the suspect(s) used her debit card to make a purchase at the business.
6000 block of Michael, 11/2/2015, 12:33 PM: Victim was conducting his own credit check and discovered an unknown suspect, possible out of the city of Oak Park, opened a Comcast Account in his name. Victim is unsure how this suspect obtained his personal information to open the account without his knowledge nor approval. 15-35972
Biggby Coffee, 1057 E. Long Lake Road, 10/30/2015, 12:45 PM: Manager reports a nervous customer came into the business and purchased a drink. The customer paid with a $50 bill and was given his change. The bill was then checked and the manager determined it to be counterfeit. The customer, who was waiting for his drink, was advised of such and he told the employee he would go to his car to get a credit card. The customer then left the business and never came back. The manager is unable to provide a vehicle description the customer left in but describes him as a 25 year old male.
Harassment
Troy officers took one report related to harassment, threats and/or obscene phone calls.
Domestic/Family Trouble
Troy Officers responded to two incidents involving domestic disputes or family troubles during this reporting period. On-scene investigation produced enough evidence that a crime of Domestic Assault was committed and one arrest was made. However, officers were required to take non-enforcement actions to either mediate the situation or keep the peace with the remaining domestic dispute. Readers should be aware that although some incidents did not result in arrest or prosecution, it does represent significant law enforcement resources in terms of time, on-scene investigation, re location of disputants, referrals to support agencies, peace keeping, as well as detective and prosecutorial review.
Welfare Checks
Troy officers responded to three incidents involving a person(s) with reported emotional or psychological issues and assisted with transport to a hospital for evaluation or other intervention.
Neighbor Troubles
Troy Officers responded to one incident involving a neighbor trouble in which there were no reasons for formal enforcement action.
