Purse Swiped from Kroger Shopping Cart, Man Flees Old Navy with Pairs of Pants, Car Stolen from Apartment Complex

The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department.
Vehicle Taken from Outside Apartment
Troy Police were called to an apartment in the 1000 block of Dorchester on Wednesday morning. A man told police that his Honda Civic was taken from the parking lot of the apartment complex sometime between midnight and 7:10 a.m. The vehicle was found a few hours later around 9:45 a.m., unoccupied in Detroit.
Purse Swiped from Shopping Cart
A woman shopping at Kroger, near Maple and Coolidge, filed a police report after discovering her purse was swiped from her cart as she was shopping. According to the report, the woman stated that she placed her purse in the cart as she pushed it down an aisle. She briefly stopped to look at light bulbs and when she turned around, her purse was missing. The purse contained her driver’s license, checkbook, keys, credit cards and cash.

Man Runs Away from Old Navy with Pairs of Pants
According to a police report, a man exited Old Navy Wednesday with two pairs of jeans in hand. When Loss Prevention attempted to apprehend the suspect, he ran. The incident took place just after 6:30 p.m. The suspect is described as as 5’10” and 175 pounds with a short crew haircut. He may have left the area in a gray Chrysler Sebring.
Wallet Taken From Vehicle in Church Parking Lot
A police report was filed Jan. 12 when a woman reported to Troy Police that her son's wallet was taken from the family vehicle while the family attended Kensington Community Church. The wallet contained cash and several gift cards. There were no signs of forced entry. The incident took place between 5:40 and 7:15 p.m.

Attempted Auto Break-In at Lifetime Fitness
Troy Police were called to Lifetime Fitness Thursday on reports of an attempted auto break-in. The rear driver’s side window of a Jeep Commander had been shattered and the dashboard was damaged during an unsuccessful attempt to steal the vehicle’s in-dash navigation system. The incident happened between 3:50 and 6 p.m., according to the report.
