Renaissance Fencing Club Youth Fencers Excel at Regional Tournament

Twelve Renaissance Fencing Club fencers travelled to Grand Rapids over this past weekend and returned home with a total of 9 medals in 6 eve

Winning first place in their events were Daniel Upton (y10 sabre), Leighton Priest (y12 sabre) and Thomas Choi (y14 sabre).

Elizabeth Upton (y10 foil), Aeres Zhou (Y10 sabre), Jacob Trachenko (y14 foil) and Leighton Priest (Y14sabre) all took home silver medals while Michael Upton (y12 foil), Daniel Upton (y12 sabre), Aeres Zhao (y12 sabre) and Celia Crompton (Y14 foil) claimed the bronze in their respective events.

Head Sabre Coach Todd Dressell was happy to see his students results. “All of these kids work hard, and it is showing in their results. This event was the first of many challenges this season - and I expect they will continue to excel.
