State Rep. Martin Howrylak of Troy is partnering with the Michigan attorney general’s office to host a consumer education event on Friday, May 11.

This month’s presentation will feature information on phone, mail and e-scams and how to avoid being victimized from these crimes.

“I hope to provide a learning opportunity for citizens of all ages so they can recognize the warning signs of potential scams and how to avoid them,” Rep. Howrylak said.

There is no charge to attend and a light lunch will be provided. The event starts at 11 a.m. at Clawson’s Hunter Community Center located at 509 Fisher Court.
