Rep. Howrylak introduces ballot fairness bill
State Rep. Martin Howrylak this week introduced legislation that would level the playing field among all candidates for public office

State Rep. Martin Howrylak this week introduced legislation that would level the playing field among all candidates for public office by removing party affiliations from election ballots in Michigan.
Howrylak, of Troy, said listing the names of candidates without their party affiliations will ensure fairness and equity among all political candidates.
“Our democratic republic was founded on the egalitarian and noble concept that all people are created equal,” Howrylak said. “This bill will help to ensure that qualified and able candidates are not marginalized by their party affiliation or lack thereof.”
