Rough Landing at Oakland Airport Monday
No injuries when twin-prop skids in with malfunctioning landing gear.

(Originally published Dec. 6, 2016) Oakland County International Airport got a bit of a scare on Monday but everything turned out all right. A pilot and passenger were not injured when a plane’s front landing gear malfunctioned the Waterford Township facility, WDIV-TV reported.
Rescue personnel had been on standby for several hours before the twin-prop plane touched down hard at about 3:30 p.m. The plane’s front landing gear malfunctioned, forcing the pilot to abandon an earlier landing attempt at the airport, 6500 Highland Road.
The plane skidded on its nose after landing on the runway. The plane was damaged, but did not catch on fire.
