Secrest Wardle 2014 "Casual Fridays" Charity Sponsorship Ends the Year on a Helpful Note!

Troy, Michigan - Throughout the year, Secrest Wardle employees participate in “Casual Fridays” on which they enjoy wearing business casual attire in exchange for a $5 cash donation to a variety of charities selected by employees. For 2014, over $11,300 was raised for donation.

The Firm sponsored Gleaners Community Food Bank as its holiday season charity, designating funds raised through Casual Fridays during December to the organization. Additional funds were raised through several raffles. Secrest Wardle generously donated raffle items including event tickets, bottles of wine, as well as a variety of other items. Kruse and Muer restaurant also generously donated two $50 gift certificates for the raffles. Over $3,050 was raised for donation to Gleaners Community Food Bank. Secrest Wardle also sponsored a Casual Friday supporting The Salvation Army Royal Oak Citadel, and collected boxes of toiletries for donation to the organization.

Last year, Gleaners distributed 41 million pounds of emergency food to more than 550 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties. For every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 94 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
