Secrest Wardle Attends “Let Their Voice Be Heard Benefit” for the Girls Choral Academy

Attorneys Amanda Fopma and Lori Fitzgerald of Secrest Wardle's Grand Rapids office attended the dinner and performance.

Secrest Wardle Partner Amanda B. Fopma and Associate Lori B. Fitzgerald of the Firm's Grand Rapids office attended the “Let Their Voice Be Heard Benefit” for the Girls Choral Academy on November 10, 2016. The event took place at New Vintage Place, Grand Rapids, MI. The Firm proudly served as a “Member of the Choir” sponsor. The event, one of two main fundraising efforts for the Girls Choral Academy, honored Teresa Weatherall Neal, Superintendent of Grand Rapids Public Schools.

The “Let Their Voice Be Heard Benefit” included a dinner and a performance by the Girls Choral Academy (GCA) alongside the Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus. Those in attendance had an opportunity to learn more about GCA’s efforts to provide a safe environment where girls build leadership skills and self-confidence through music education.

Amanda Fopma commented on her experience at the event:

“I was very impressed by the girls’ performance and got goosebumps at times. To hear what their voices could accomplish in harmony was amazing. It was inspiring to see such a wonderful organization in our city.”

Lori Fitzgerald also reflected on the evening:

“I sincerely appreciate the work this organization does in promoting and teaching young girls and women they are important, they have a voice and it is important in today’s world to have the confidence to speak up as well as value themselves.”

Founded in 1997, the Girls Choral Academy offers unique programs of music for girls who love to sing and wish to grow both artistically as singers, and personally as leaders and members of a choir. They provide a safe environment where girls build leadership skills and self-confidence through music education.
