Secrest Wardle Attorneys Author Article in Michigan Bar Journal

Secrest Wardle Executive Partner Bradley & Partner Broaddus author "Nickola & the Limitations on Penalty Interest Awards in Tort Actions"

Secrest Wardle Executive Partner, James R. Bradley, and Partner, Drew W. Broaddus, have authored a Negligence Law article in the June 2018 edition of the Michigan Bar Journal. Their article titled, “Nickola and the Limitations on Penalty Interest Awards in Tort Actions,” provides an overview of the Michigan Supreme Court’s Nickola opinion and discusses the importance of understanding how it can affect practice. James R. Bradley practices out of Secrest Wardle’s Lansing office and is a member of the Firm’s Construction, Employment, Motor Vehicle Litigation, Product Liability and Trucking/Commercial Vechicle Litigation Practice Groups. Mr. Bradley specializes in motor vehicle defense litigation and has successfully defended corporate and private clients in first party and third party automobile liability claims in both state and federal courts. Mr. Bradley was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1987 and is licensed to the practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Drew W. Broaddus, located in Secrest Wardle’s Grand Rapids office, currently serves as Chair of the Firm’s Appellate and Insurance Coverage Practice Groups. Mr. Broaddus has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 2002 and is licensed to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Sixth Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Broaddus is a member of the Michigan State Bar’s Appellate Practice and Insurance and Indemnity Law Sections. Additionally, he was appointed to the State Bar of Michigan Appellate Practice Section Council in 2017. Mr. Broaddus has been named to the list of Rising Stars in Super Lawyers Magazine for 2012-2017. He was also named by dbusiness Magazine to the list of Top Lawyers in 2017. Additionally, Mr. Broaddus has received an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
