Caroline A. Grech-Clapper has been nominated for the Women in Advocacy 2014 Excellence in Advocacy Award in the “Excellence in a Campaign for Women Serving Women” category. The finalists will be announced in October, with one award winner from each category recognized at the Excellence in Advocacy Reception and Awards ceremony to take place on November 20, 2014, in Washington, D.C.
The mission of the organizers of the Professional Women in Advocacy Conference (PWIA) believe that when women are involved at the highest levels of policy making, everyone benefits. The PWIA Conference strives to connect women and promote excellence in their work. The “Excellence in a Campaign for Women Serving Women” category recognizes women advocates whom have successfully impacted the outcome of a problem or opportunity on behalf of other women. Ms. Grech-Clapper, a long-time advocate for women in business and the legal community, received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors from Madonna University. Ms. Grech-Clapper is a Vice-President of the Women Officials Network Foundation. She has also served in a Director position with WON Foundation. Ms. Grech-Clapper has appeared as a featured speaker at the Troy Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Forum, “Top of Troy: Women of Influence.” She was recently recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of 30 outstanding women in Michigan’s legal community as 2014 Women in the Law.
