Secrest Wardle Paralegal Julianna C. Wostyn Receives American Numismatic Association Presidential Award

Julianna C. Wostyn is a Paralegal with Secrest Wardle's Municipal Practice Group

Troy, Michigan - Julianna C. Wostyn, a Paralegal with Secrest Wardle’s Municipal Practice Group, pictured with, left to right, Secrest Wardle Senior and Co-Managing Partner Mark Morley and ANA President Walter Ostremski, Jr., has recently received the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) Presidential Award. The award was presented during the Michigan State Numismatic Society’s (MSNS) Fall Convention and Coin Show which took place at the Macomb Community College Expo Center, November 28-30, 2014. Ms. Wostyn was also awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Board of Directors she served with for the 2013-2014 term.

The ANA is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to educating and encouraging people to study money as it relates to history and education, and enhance interest in the collecting of money and related items. The ANA serves the academic community, collectors, and the general public with an interest in numismatics. The ANA Presidential Award is bestowed upon distinguished individuals from around the country who have been identified as exceptionally dedicated to promoting numismatics through the education of its members, the general public, and the numismatic community. The MSNS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded in 1956, to serve the study of the forms and uses of money. Members of the organization are scholars and/or collectors of coins, tokens, medals, currency, and fiduciary instruments. Ms. Wostyn has served MSNS for eight years, six as a director. Julianna Wostyn has been a Paralegal in Secrest Wardle’s Municipal Practice Group for nearly seven years. She is a state licensed Michigan Certified Assessing Officer. Julianna effectively represents municipalities in property tax matters. In many cases, Ms. Wostyn has successfully negotiated equitable settlements, assisting Secrest Wardle clients by avoiding the unnecessary legal expense of trials. In addition to MSNS, Ms. Wostyn is a member of three non-profit historical societies involved in preserving Michigan and Wisconsin history and historical structures of significance.
