Secrest Wardle is pleased to report 2015 "Casual Fridays" Charity Sponsorship Events achieve successful results!

Troy, MI - Each week throughout the year, Secrest Wardle employees in the Firm’s three office locations have the option to participate in “Casual Fridays.” In exchange for a $5 cash donation, business casual attire is permitted. Employees are encouraged to suggest charities for sponsorship. In 2015, more requests than ever before were made, achieving over $9,590 in funds raised for a variety of charities.

For a number of years, Secrest Wardle has named Gleaners Community Food Bank as its holiday season charity. In addition to several “Casual Fridays” throughout the year, all funds raised during December are designated for the organization. Additional funds are also raised through Firm-sponsored raffles. For 2015, $3,100 was donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank. Secrest Wardle also sponsored The Salvation Army Royal Oak Citadel during the month of December, collecting boxes of toiletries for donation to the organization.

Last year, Gleaners distributed 34 million pounds of emergency food to more than 510 partner soup kitchens, shelters, and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties. For every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 94 cents for food and food programs. Each $25 donation equals 150 meals and feeds a family for two weeks. The Salvation Army–Royal Oak offers a wide range of services to southeast Oakland County: pastoral counseling, emergency assistance, homeless family lodging, sports and recreation activities, music programs, and many other weekly and special events.
