Robert J. Penrod joins Secrest Wardle as an Associate. He practices out of the Firm’s Troy office and is a member of the Commercial and Business Law, Construction, Environmental and Toxic Tort, Governmental Litigation, Intellectual Property/Advertising Injury, Motor Vehicle Litigation, and Trucking/Commercial Vehicle Litigation Practice Groups. Mr. Penrod has experience handling insurance defense, commercial litigation, employment, and municipal matters.

Mr. Penrod earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During law school, he received the Virginia Leo Sirotnak Scholarship, two Book Awards in Local Government Law and Entertainment Law, and was named to the Dean’s List. Mr. Penrod received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science with a Minor in International Relations from Grand Valley State University. As an undergraduate student, he was a member of the Grand Valley Men’s D2 Ice Hockey team that claimed the ACHA National Championship in 2011.

Robert Penrod is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Arts, Communications, Entertainment & Sports, Criminal Law, Real Property Law, Marijuana Law, and Young Lawyers Sections. Additionally, Mr. Penrod serves as a USA Hockey and MHSAA Hockey Referee and is a member of the Macomb County Bar Association, Italian American Bar Association of Michigan, and De La Salle Collegiate Alumni Association.
